Hublot Big Bang Unico Integrated Rainbow and Big Bang Unico Time Only Rainbow
The rainbow watch aesthetic itself isn’t new, but Hublot is constantly finding new ways to create colorful wristwatches, and as part of the brand’s 2023 releases, Hublot has introduced two new Big Bangs featuring rainbow gemstones and matching integrated bracelets. The Hublot Big Bang Unico Integrated Rainbow and Big Bang Unico Time Only Rainbow represent a very serious and unabashedly luxurious embodiment of the aesthetic, the most vibrant rainbow from Hublot.
The Hublot Big Bang Unico Integrated Rainbow watch is crafted from polished satin King Gold, a unique alloy based on 18K red gold with very warm tones. The new watch is based on the design of the existing Big Bang Unico Integrated Rainbow models, with a case diameter of 42 mm and a thickness of 13.45 mm. The watch is recognizable by its angular case, built-in lugs and signature bezel with six exposed screws.
Sapphire crystals are installed both on the dial side of the Big Bang Unico Integrated Rainbow and on the case back. The rubberized crown at 3 o’clock is surrounded by rectangular pushers for adjusting functions. The watch is powered by the familiar Unico Manufacture MHUB1280 self-winding chronograph movement. Beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4Hz) with a power reserve of approximately 72 hours, the Unico MHUB1280 features a flyback function and a unique skeletonized design where the column wheel mechanism is visible through the watch dial.
The second new product is the Hublot Big Bang Unico Time Only Rainbow, based on the current Integrated Time Only catalog series. Time Only models use a simplified time and date format. The case of the new Big Bang Unico Time Only Rainbow has a diameter of 40 mm and a thickness of 9.25 mm, made of a patented 18-karat King Gold alloy.
The case is complemented by built-in lugs, water-resistant to 100 meters, and the bezel with its recognizable six exposed screws is encrusted with rainbow gems. The novelty is equipped with an automatic movement MHUB1710, which operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz) with a power reserve of approximately 50 hours. Caliber MHUB1710 is quite thin. The watch sits comfortably on the wrist.
Hublot has already produced many different rainbow jeweled watches and has also previously created the Big Bang Integrated using its proprietary King Gold alloy. However, this new duo marks the first time the brand has paired one of its rainbow gemstone-encrusted watches with a matching bracelet that is also set with multi-colored gemstones. Gems used in watch inlay: ruby, amethyst, blue topaz and tsavorite, as well as pink, orange, blue and yellow sapphires. Because each stone has its own unique color and hue, Hublot’s team of craftsmen must carefully select and place each individual stone to create the aesthetic of the watch’s multi-colored gradients.
The Big Bang Unico Integrated Rainbow watch features 174 precious stones integrated into the case and bezel, as well as 768 additional stones on the bracelet. The Big Bang Unico Time Only Rainbow watch features 176 jewels on the watch case itself, with 748 additional jewels set on the links of the integrated bracelet. Previous rainbow watches came with matching rainbow-colored leather straps.
